| Day 01
|
Arrival in Kunming
Upon your arrival, our guide will pick
you up at the airport and transfer to
your hotel. Visit the Dragon Gate in
Western Hills and the Grand-view Park.
Western
Hills: Located at the west bank
of the Dianchi
Lake, is set in mountains well
covered by evergreen woods and filled
with sweet songs by lovely birds,
perfect for hiking. Dragon Gate consists
of the Sanqing Temple Complex and
the Dragon Gate Grotto Complex.
Grand-view
Park: A beautiful lake-side park
that was completed in 1690 during
the Qing Dynasty, known for its longest
antithetical couplet in China.

| Day 02
|
Kunming - Stone Forest
- Xishuangbanna
After breakfast, drive 90 KM to Lunan
county to visit the Stone Forest. Back
to Kunming in the afternoon and take
flight to Xishuangbanna. (B+L)
Stone
Forest: The most remarkable natural
phenomena. It consists of innumerable
bizarre shaped ancient limestone cliffs
and peaks created by wind and water
erosion some 270 million years ago.
Xishuangbanna:
Xishuangbanna is the only tropical
rainforest nature reserve zone in
China, famous for its mysterious tropical
rainforests and minority customs.
The climate is warm and wet here,
ideal for nurturing some wonderful
plants and flora and home to unusual
wildlife. Old trees reach into the
skies here, vines twist and gnarl
together and in the evening, a thick
fog spreads across the region, bringing
with it an air of mystery and intrigue.

| Day 03 |
Xishuangbanna
Visit the Morning Ganlanba bazaar, the
Manting Park, the Arboretum of Tropical
Plants and villages of Dai people. (B+L)
Dai
people: The Dai ethnic group was
the first in history to plant rice and
to use a furrow to plough, with a population
of about 1.2 million, mainly lives in
the Dai Autonomous Region.
Arboretum
of Tropical Plants: Here plants
of every description grow luxuriantly
in a picturesque surrounding, and myriads
of tropical plants vie with each other
in splendour. It is a place highly favoured
by botanists and people who have a fancy
for plants. |

Day 04
|
Xishuangbanna - Lijiang
Visit the the Jingzhen Octagonal pavilion
and the tropical Rain Forest Park, scenic
spots of the park including air veranda;
nine-dragon village; Aini ethnic villages
and waterfall. Take flight to Lijiang.

built in 1701 as a place of Buddhist

| Day 05 |
Lijiang
Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain,
the Baisha Murals, the 600 year old
Ten Thousand Blossom Camellia Tree at
the Yufeng Lama Temple and villages
of Naxi people. (B+L)
Jade
Dragon Snow Mountain: The much
famed mountain is situated some 15
km. north of Lijiang County, with
thirteen peaks resembling jade pillars
holding the sky, it stands majestically
on the east side of the Jinshajiang
River. The main peak, Mount Fan (Shanzifeng),
is 5,596 m. above sea level, and is
annually snowcapped.
Baisha Murals: Lijiang's murals
are works of the Ming Dynasty, chiefly
created from the Hongwu to the Wanli
eras. They were originally distributed
among the Juexiansi Temple and twelve
others, nine of which fell to ruins.
The remaining four temples have altogether
55 murals, with a total area of 139.22
sq. m.
Ten
Thousand Blossom Camellia Tree:
The tree is as old as over 500 years.
Around the day when spring begins,
the flowers also begin to vie in beauty
and around the day when summer begins,
they fade away.
Naxi
people: Naxi literature is rich
in form and content. Besides works
by Naxi scholars and writers, there
is a repository of oral folk literature.

| Day 06 |
Lijiang
Visit the Black Dragon Pool in Jade
Spring Park, Dongba Museum, Shuhe village
and Lijiang Ancient Town. (B+L)
Black
Dragon Pool: As the water is as
green and lucid as jade, the pond
is also entitled "Yuquan"
or Jade Fountain. On the bank of the
pond willows hang their withes like
silk thread. One can see arbours and
pavilions beside the pond, temples
hidden in the trees and variegated
flowers found everywhere.
Lijiang
Ancient Town: The county town
of Lijiang is also called Dayanzhen,
famous for its scientific architectural
layout. Crisscrossed by crystal-clear
rivers and meandering cobbled streets,
it has a high research value and is
a treasure in the field of urban construction
in China.

| Day 07 |
Lijiang - Dali
Drive 3.5 hours to Dali. Visit Bai people's
Tie Dying Cloth with Wax, villages of
Bai People with traditional architecture
courtyard in Xizhou Township and Xinhua
village where the Bai People are famous
for making silver articles. (B+L)
Bai
people: The Bai people have a
long history and well-developed culture.
80% of the population of 1.39 million
live in the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture
around the Erhai Lake with exquisite
scenery. The Bai people have their
own spoden language but do not have
a written one.

| Day 08 |
Dali - Kunming
A cruise in the Erhai Lake, on the boat,
you'll enjoy the unique Three-course-tea
of Bai people and their dancing and
singing performance. In the afternoon,
visit the Three Pagodas in the Chong
Sheng Temple and Dali Ancient City.
Take flight to Kunming. (B+L)
Erhai
Lake: One of the seven biggest
fresh water lakes in China and the
largest highland lake next to Dianchi
Lake (in Kunming). So it was called
"Plateau Pearl". The dimension
is 41.5 km. by 6.9 km. The total storage
capacity is 3 billion cubic metres
and its elevation 1,972 metres.
Three
Pagodas: Between Cangshan Mountain
and Erhai Lake, the Three Pagodas
stand like the legs of a huge tripod.
In the time of Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms,
Chongshengsi Monastery was the largest
monastery in this area and the Three
Pagodas were only a part of it.
Dali
Ancient City: A historically and
culturally famous city of China, is
renowned for her historical interest,
and an important pass of the ancient
"Silk Route of the South".

| Day 09 |
Departure from Kunming
Visit the Golden Temple and the Bamboo
Monastery. Transfer to the airport for
your departure, end of service. (B+L)
Golden
Temple: A Daoist temple, the main
building of which is cast entirely in
bronze weighing about 280 tons.
Bamboo
Monastery: A Tang Dynasty (618-907
A.D.) temple known for its Arhat statues,
is the most famous of Kunming's temples.
The present Bamboo temple was rebuilt
in the Guangxu Era (1833 to 1890). |
