1. Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival in Kunming
Your Yunnan photography holiday starts when you fly in to Kunming. Upon your arrival, our guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Visit the Bamboo Monastery.

Bamboo Monastery: A Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.) temple known for its 500 Arhat statues, the quiet and tastefully laid out temple is surrounded by verdant woods and green bamboos affording crisp and cool air.
Day 02

Kunming - Jianshui (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Depart Kunming and travel to Jianshui, a wonderful shoot destination for Chinese ancient architecture. Visit city gate - Chaoyang Tower. Tour to the Zhu's Family Garden, the Confucian Temple and the Shuanglong Bridge. In the evening, explore the old residential area and its unique ancient wells. Stay overnight at Zhu Family's Garden, the best hotel in Jianshui.

Day 03

Jianshui - Yuanyang (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Visit Tuanshan Village and the Garden of Zhang Family. Drive to Yuanyang where you will have tons of great shooting opportunities. On the way, visit the Swallow Cave. Enjoy the wonderful view of of Laohuzui terraced fields at sunset. Stay overnight at Mengnong Chieftain Palace.

Day 04

Yuanyang (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
The photographic treasure-hunt today is the spectacular sunrise view from scenic mountain terraces at Duoyishu Village. In the afternoon, visit Qingkou Ethnic Hani Village and rice terraces, Bada Hani terraced fields and Shengcun Market. Enjoy the sunset of terrace fields in Longshuba in the late afternoon.

Day 05 Yuanyang - Kunming (Breakfast + Lunch)
Get up early and catch the sunrise on terraced fields in Yuanyang, do a bit more landscape photography and portraiture, seizing on the opportunities all around us in these hills, then return to Kunming. Visit the Stone Forest on the way.

Stone Forest: Located 120 kilometers southeast of Kunming, the Stone Forest is a typical karst formation covering an area of more than 350 square kilometers. In 2007, it is listed as World Natural Heritage. Walking inside the forest, you will find a wonderland consists of innumerable huge rocks of fantastic shapes.
Day 06

Kunming - Lijiang (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take flight to Lijiang. Visit Sifang Street in Lijiang Ancient Town.

Lijiang Ancient Town: The old town is famous for its scientific architectural layout. Crisscrossed by crystal-clear rivers and meandering cobbled streets, it has a high research value and is a treasure in the field of urban construction in China.

Day 07 Lijiang (Breakfast + Lunch)
Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the Baisha Murals and the Ancient Shuhe Village of Naxi People.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: The mountain is situated some 15 km. north of Lijiang County, with thirteen peaks resembling jade pillars holding the sky, it stands majestically on the east side of the Jinshajiang River. The main peak, Mount Fan (Shanzifeng), is 5,596 m. above sea level, and is annually snowcapped.
Baisha Murals: Lijiang's murals are works of the Ming Dynasty (1368ĘC1644). They were originally distributed among the Juexiansi Temple and twelve others, nine of which fell to ruins. The remaining four temples have altogether 55 murals, with a total area of 139.22 sq. m.
Naxi people: The Naxi ethnic minority has a population of 277,800, most of whom live in concentrated communities in the Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County in Yunnan Province. More than 1,000 years ago, the Naxi people had already created pictographic characters called the "Dongba" script and a syllabic writing known as the "Geba" script. With these scripts they recorded a lot of beautiful folklore, legends, poems and religious classics.

Day 08

Lijiang - Shangri-La (Breakfast + Lunch)
Drive 180Km to Shangri-la. On the way, visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge and the First bend of the Yangtze River.

Tiger Leaping Gorge: One of the longest, deepest and narrowest gorges in the world.
First bend of the Yangtze River: The upper reaches of the Yangtze River is named the Jinsha River, which originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The Jinsha River flowed southward along the Hengduan Mountain ranges and was forced to the turn to north because of the Alpine movements which caused changes in the earth's physiognomy. When the river reaches Shigu Township, it makes an abrupt turn and flows further northward, forming the rare V-shape bend.

Day 09

Shangri-la (Breakfast + Lunch)
Visit the Songzanlin Lama Temple, the Pudacuo National Park (including Shudu Lake, Bita Lake resort and Xiaji Resort.).

Songzanlin Lama Temple: Also named Guihua Monastery, the temple is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Shangri-La of Yunnan province. It is one of the famous monasteries in the region, nicknamed as "the little Potala Palace", for the whole monastery is in the traditional style with mysterious atmosphere.
Bitahai Lake: The lake is an intact natural attraction with various species of flora and fauna and, of course, picturesque landscapes. In Tibetan language, Bita means "a piece of land as soft as cattle hair felt". With an altitude of 3,539 meters (about 11,608 feet), the lake is the highest in Yunnan Province. Shaped like lively deer, it covers an area of 166 hectares.
Shudu Lake: The lake is located 43km to the northeast of Shangri-La City. Shudu Lake is 3705 meters above sea level and is one of the biggest lakes in Diqing Prefecture. Now it has been turned into a highland pasture resort. The lake is shallow enough to be called interestingly "a place where one can fish with a wooden stick". The lake water is so clear that you can see the fish swimming around. One special fish in the lake is called the cracked-stomach fish for the crack line strangely running across its stomach.

Day 10

Shangri-la - Deqen (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Drive from Shangri-la to Deqen, 110km, visit the Flying temple on the way.

Day 11

Deqen (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Visit the Mingyong Glacier at Meili Snow Mountain.

Meili Snow Mountain: Towering like a pyramid is located about 10km west of Deqing City in Diqing Prefecture. As the sun rises in the east, the snow-mountain looks splendid, draped in gold. Low altitude modern glaciers, can be found in this area, of particular interest to those engaged in geological research. Under Kawageber Peak, Mingyuchia Glacier and Sichia Glacier stretch down to the forest at an elevation of 2,700 meters; this area is accessible. However, the highest peak, Kawageber Peak some 6,740 meters above sea level, is still a "virgin peak", untouched till now. Mountaineers from China, Great Britain, the US, and Japan have failed to conquer the peak over the years. In 1991, 17 mountaineers from China and Japan trying to conquer the peak lost their lives on the snow-mountain.

Day 12 Deqen - Shangri-la - Kunming (Breakfast + Lunch)
Drive from Deqen to Shangri-la. Take flight to Kunming.
Day 13 Kunming - Departure (Breakfast + Lunch)
If time permits, tour to the Dragon Gate in Western Hills, then visit Bird & Flower market. Transfer to the airport for your departure, end of service.

Western Hills: Located at the west bank of the Dianchi Lake, Western Hills is set in mountains well covered by evergreen woods and filled with sweet songs by lovely birds, perfect for hiking. Dragon Gate consists of the Sanqing Temple Complex and the Dragon Gate Grotto Complex.

4. Quotation Inclusions:

1. Hotel Accommodation
The hotel is based on two adults sharing one twin or double standard room with private facilities. Solo travelers or those who want to occupy one twin-bed room of their own are required to pay additional charge of single supplement rate. A single room is subject to availability based on prior request at an additional cost; if the above recommended hotel is not available, it will be substituted by a similar one.
2. Meals
Daily American or Chinese breakfast at the hotel, Chinese lunch or dinner in local Chinese restaurant as specified in the itinerary.
3. Private Transport
Private transport between airport / railway station and hotel and all the sightseeing spots by air-conditioned vehicle. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.
4. Transportation Between Cities
The economic class air tickets of the domestic flight or soft berth/seat train tickets between cities as specified in the above itinerary. Airport construction fee and fuel surcharge are included.
5. Entrance Tickets
The main entrance tickets for the sightseeing spots mentioned.
6. Driver And Guiding Service
Driver and English-speaking guide service on normal sightseeing activities noted in the itinerary. Our guide will not fly with you from one city to another. Upon your arrival at each city, a new local guide and driver will pick you up, be with you for local tour and see you off after you finish the itinerary of each city.
7. Insurance
China Life Tourist Accident / Casualty Insurance. We highly recommend that you purchase full coverage travel insurance from you country of origin.

3. Single Room Supplement
Should a twin room is needed by a single guest, supplement of the twin room will be charged.
What is single supplement?- The hotel is based on double occupancy. If the visitor travels alone or the number of the travelers is odd (such as 3, 5, 7...), who stays in one single room has to pay the single room supplement. As the hotel is on double occupancy.

Expenses of a personal nature such as laundry, drinks, fax, telephone call, optional activities or sightseeing, overweight baggage charges or any meals not specified in the itinerary, ect.

7. Extra Cost
