Kunming,
the capital city of Yunnan Province, also
known as Spring City for its lovely weather
year round, is a relaxed haven to get some
rest and eat well. It's not a place of great
culture or old buildings. It's just a friendly
city you'll enjoy. The best place to see life
in Kunming passing by is taking a seat in
the Dianchi Lake and watch the seagulls, praised
as "the Pearl of the Plateau", the lake is
the sixth largest fresh water lake in China.

is the capital city of Yunnan
Province.  Yunnan
lies in the southwest

Snow Mountain,
towering like a pyramid is located about 10km
west of Deqing City in Diqing Prefecture.
As the sun rises in the east, the snow-mountain
looks splendid, draped in gold. This holy
scene is described in a book named The Lost
Horizon. Low altitude modern glaciers, can
be found in this area, of particular interest
to those engaged in geological research. Under
Kawageber Peak, Mingyuchia Glacier and Sichia
Glacier stretch down to the forest at an elevation
of 2,700 meters; this area is accessible.
However, the highest peak, Kawageber Peak
some 6,740 meters above sea level, is still
a "virgin peak", untouched till now......

Snow Mountain
boasts glaciers, lakes and waterfalls, and
contains one of the best preserved nature
reserves in Shangri-la. The main peak of the
mountain is 5396m above sea level and is capped
with snow all year round. On the mountain
side, crystal-clear glaciers hang and the
valleys on the northern side of the mountain
are dotted with numerous lakes, the most beautiful
being Heihai Lake. Each year between June
and August millions of azaleas come into bloom.
One of the most unusual things about this
spot is that you can walk on the flowers without
crushing them!
